Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved in robotics in Bloomington. We run programs through FIRST Robotics.

• FIRST Lego League Discover (FLL) is for students in grades pre K-1.

• FIRST Lego League Explore (FLL) is for students in grades 2-4.

• FIRST Lego League Challenge (FLL) is for students in grades 4-5.

• FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is for students in grades 6-12.

• FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is for students in grades 9-12.

Most of our teams are site-based teams and meet at Kennedy High School. This means that it does not matter where a student attends school, but that they meet at a location where we can best support with parts and mentors all in one space.

We rely on parents and mentors for guidance and teaching. And on sponsors and donations for registration fees and buying parts. A huge thank you to everyone who supports us and our teams!

• Join a team: fill out our Interest Form and we will be in contact with you. Check your email!

• Start a team: go to firstinspires.org for more info, or email admin@cistemb.org and we will help you.

• Mentor a team: email admin@cistemb.org

• Peer review a robot (are you a professional engineer? We would love to have you review a team's robot. This gets our students connecting with professionals and allows them to improve and learn): email admin@cistemb.org
